North Central Regina has the dubious distinction of having the highest crime rate in Canada. Social problems abound in this largely aboriginal community, led by an overwhelming intravenous drug crisis. In a city of approximately 200 000, more than 1.8 million syringes where exchanged in 2005 at the community needle exchange.

This epidemic feeds the fire of crime and violence.
